It can be difficult at times to realize that Do’s for December is not just about getting ready for the holidays.
As time consuming as holiday related activities can be, and for all the fun they represent, life still goes on. And your home still needs tending to.
Cutting right to the chase, here are 6 things we encourage you to take care of now if you haven’t already. And if you have, aren’t you the prepared one!
- Have preventative maintenance performed on your furnace. If your furnace hasn’t been professionally serviced in a year or longer, we encourage you not to let one more day go by before calling Eagle Service Company. We’ll clean and inspect it so thoroughly, you’ll immediately start enjoying improved performance, added comfort, cleaner indoor air, and lower utility costs.
- Insulate exposed water pipes. Just because water pipes in unheated areas like your garage have never frozen and cracked before doesn’t mean this won’t be the year. Instead, why not just eliminate the worry once and for all by insulating all such pipes. Or, we’d be happy to do it for you.
- Deep clean your appliances. Who works almost as hard as you do during the holidays? Your appliances, that’s who/what. So take the time to deep clean them now before it gets to be “rush hour” for holiday cooking, baking, and cleaning.
- Keep the cold air out, and your utility costs down. Since the real cold air doesn’t quite hit us until January, December is a great time to add caulk or weather stripping around windows and doors to keep the cold air out, and the warm air in. Also, if you have a ceiling fan, set it in reverse so it can push the warm air back down where you’ll feel just as comfortable at lower temperature settings.
